Install and Service Advice

Install Tip of the Month

Always install a Booster Pump with your watermaker. Some manufacturers include one with your system. However, some companies offer the booster pump as an accessory. Many service problems occur as a result of not incorporating this unit. Pre-filter failure, high pressure pump cavitation, and pre-mature membrane failure are examples of service problems related to the lack of a booster pump. We recommend placing this pump below the waterline, between the thru-hull fitting and the main watermaker.

Service Tip of the Month
Most pre-filters can be cleaned several times before you have to replace them. Simply squirt a stream of water from a garden hose between the filter's pleats to remove most of the debris. You can also soak the filter in diluted bleach.

Fresh Water Flush System. This is a very important " add on " for any watermaker. We highly recommend installing either a manual or automatic fresh water flush unit. This will allow the introduction of fresh water into your watermaker after it has shut down. This greatly increases the life of your watermaker's components.
